Not sure where to put this Introduction/Opinion

This post tells how I just found out about the purple party and the potential it may have. It is a "letter" I sent to whomever is the receiver of your contact emails and I figured I could post it here for the forum users as well. I plan on getting involved in some level of discussion here and am intrigued by what this party could become with enough people and enough time.

Sorry about the formatting its a little long:

I Gordon James Millar allow "The Purple Party" and their affiliates to publish both my name and opinions

    To Whom It May Concern,

I would first like to introduce myself, and I must say judging by my email address you can may be tell I am a very serious person. My name is Gordon James Millar and I'm a 21 year old biology student in San Luis Obispo, California attending Cuesta College. I spend most of my time reading, playing video games, writing, little partying natrually, I like cars, and I shoot occasionally and own firearms. As another side of my political character I have had homosexual and heterosexual relationships even in my short ignorant 21 year old life.
I tend to have fairly "liberal" leaning views (such as universal health care, education subsidies, pro choice, acceptance of gay marriage, trying to lead a peaceful foreign policy stance) and what not, but if you will tolerate my polarization of issues I also have some conservative views (I am anti gun-control, am a fan of "small government" except for in cases where I believe spending will lead to the greater good of the nation e.g. health care etc. and like to keep a fairly unrestricted commerce policies) I have gotten in many discussions with Republicans, Democrats and Libertarians alike about these clashing political views and it always spawns such an extreme dissidence and fervor to get me to put all my eggs in one political basket, which I refuse to do.
Now this is where I hope to begin to making sense or at least giving you a reason why I am emailing you at all hours of the morning. To understand how I heard about your organization I must tell a brief anecdote.
I returned home this morning very late from a friends (Tuesday September 15th, 2009) and looked for something to watch while I had a snack and a cigarette before I went to sleep. I looked for some interviews with Jon Stewart because I find his political views on the corrupt nature of our political process interesting and inspiring. When I found an interview with Larry King he did in 2004 (Link below)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHanW7EGg-U&feature=related

As he began to speak about the fact that we have managed to boil down peoples political differences from not only there statehood but to "Red" or "Blue" the to just two primary colors. This was when the thought entered my mind that why not have a party with these two primary colors mixed together as proponents of peace, prosperity, and liberty AND as proponents of fact-based intelligent civil discourse on political issues (Something that is few and far between on any mainstream outlet, and in day to day life quite frankly). This "purple" party could blend values of both sides in a rational well thought out way challenging the two party system that exists today.
Now excited by my pretty obvious observation that red and blue make purple I hopped over to google and promptly typed in "The Purple Party" and came to your homepage and that the organization The Purple Party already existed. I read your splash page and a little of the info and wanted to offer a couple comments and questions. I suppose I will start with comments for sake of formatting. The only thing I really wanted to respond to in the splash page is that although I agree both parties have lost there way both parties still offer SOME ideals and goals that are admirable and honest and if a new political party like the Purple Party hopes to begin garnering acceptance we (and I will say "we" because I agree with your groups message of understanding, cooperation, and compassion) must work with members in those parties who are tired of the status quo in party politics otherwise the message can and likely will be cast aside as "left-wing peace mumbo jumbo". My questions are few and pretty simple, but I'm hoping you will read this whole "letter" carefully and respond so we can have a little civil discourse about politics what say we?

    1) Are you a registered party and if not are you planning on it?

    2) I noticed on your forums your members are still discussing what direction they hope the party will take (moderate or marvellous).
Do you believe its possible to start a party that doesn't base at least SOME of its discussion and ideals on existing ones in both parties?

Because both parties are so large I think it is absolutely crucial to realize there are goods that come from both parties (largely the Democrats) and to disagree with this would be acknowledging that no one in both these parties want compassion, peace, and understanding which is an assumption that I believe is a foolish one.

I would like to discuss with you and eventually on the forums this question of is the purple party going to be a social movement or political party. I hope we can take the steps to becoming a political party so we can at least establish a level of credibility in the status quo of politics slowly over time.

Thank you for reading my late-night youtube inspired letter and I hope to hear back from you!

                                         Sincerely,
                                         Gordon James Millar

I must add to this because I already sent out my email and it is a very important aspect of my political views. I am very skeptical of the carbon monoxide emission and "carbon footprint" , and I hope to elaborate on it when its not 5 A.M. I am not trying to convince people of whats right or wrong or good or bad I will discuss the problems I have with it in detail later.

However I am not blind and I do believe human consumption in many ways has harmed the environment and there is no getting around that, but I don't think carbon emissions are what people should really be putting so much stock into when there are more relevant environmental issues like reduction of habitat, single crop growing, dumping of chemical waste products in manufacturing and energy industries.

So please do not attack me, lets keep it civil folks I have the utmost faith you will.

    -Gordon

    Hello,
This is nice. But I think in the way you define the topic, it is good but not in the way it should be.. You start it good and cover all the things but in the middle you leave the actual topic and did not focus on the specific topic you started.. But over all its good. And I am a student and did different ……………. These are good but taught as well. Hope more topics will be discuss from your side. Have a good day.
